The Czech Republic plans to implement a 3-year tobacco harm reduction strategy which potentially advocates both tobacco snus and tobacco-free oral nicotine pouches alongside other NGP like vapes and heated tobacco. The Czech Ministry of Health’s Ondřej Jakob also cites the importance of flavours in adult smokers’ switching journeys, though: “they should be limited… to attract as few people as possible, especially adolescents, so… another group of nicotine addicts is not unnecessarily created.” The specific nicotine pouch decree – issued in May 2023 – can be viewed here.
